This hotel is so nice you have to say it twice, Hotel Hotel, and it’s just beat over 100 global nominees ranging from restaurants and bars to office spaces and shops to nab the coveted INSIDE World Festival of Interiors award for World Interior of the Year.
Found in Canberra, Australia, Hotel Hotel’s lobby is crafted from recycled and reclaimed wood structured in staggered formations to create a trippy fragmented effect that makes visitors feel as if they’re living in a surreal painting, an impossible reality.
INSIDE’s judges called the entrance a “masterful integration of different spaces into a seamless and delightful interior. The choice of raw elements gives a warmth and familiarity mixed with the excitement of the unexpected. They combine to make a powerful but not overwhelming series of spaces.”
But there’s much more to Hotel Hotel than it’s trophy lobby, the modern boutique hotel also has a myriad of noteworthy on-premise features on an unbelievable scale such as a complete movie theater, outdoor cinema, art gallery, bicycle shop with rental bikes, spa, hair salon, fitness center, yoga studio, library, and assortment of unique places to eat and drink with restaurants, bars, lounges, and even markets. So we wouldn’t be surprised if they sweep up a few more awards real soon.
