Ignorant American fact of the day: In Canada, food trucks are referred to as food carts. You learn something new every day. This leads me to the 4th Annual Vancouver Food Cart Fest — which launches for the summer on Sunday, June 28th, 12pm-5pm at the Olympic Village.
Don’t worry though if you can’t make that date’s food, fun, and sun. The food cart and farmers market of sorts continues every Sunday for the rest of the summer.
Over 20 of the city’s premier food carts will serve up their favorite items each week, in addition to live music, DJs, activities for children, urban gardening, and plenty more. Featured food carts will include Le Tigre, The Juice Truck, PazzaRella, Taser Grilled Cheese, Vij’s Railway Express, Yolk’s Breakfast, plus several other delicious options.
Admission is free with a non-perishable food donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
Visiting Western Canada this summer? If so, make the Vancouver’s Food Cart Fest a must-stop along your way. You won’t regret it.
