Of course, Virgin is the first airline to do this. Seat-to-seat ordering. And it’s all in the convenience of the Red in-flight entertainment system right in front of you. With the touch of a button, you can buy food and drinks for your homies, family, or even strangers. Hopefully hot ones. Buy whatever floats your boat, ahem, flies your plane.
The entertainment console already offers a seat-to-seat chat platform, so this is naturally the next step. And there’s an onboard happy hour. So, this also calms the chaos of hands flagging down flight attendants.
It’s simple. You pull up the EAT menu on your seatback TV and select whether you want something to eat or drink. Next, touch the “Send to Another Seat” option. You’ll be shown a seat map. Now pick one. Or two. Or three. Then check out, and pay as usual.
Cheers to that. All we need now is a built-in napkin dispenser.
